Why a Code of Conduct?
In order to effectively participate in a positive team sport experience, a proper code of conduct for all members must be upheld. When a code of conduct is properly communicated and enforced, the participation of sport becomes more enjoyable and meaningful. It also allows a coach to effectively transmit values and morals that athletes will take with them off the field and into their daily lives. It is important to respect the opportunity sport presents in molding people with strong character, morals and ethical values. It is equally as important that a program has consequences to keep it's participants accountable for their actions.
Accountability | Consequences
NOTE: The benefit of the doubt will be given. There will almost always be a chance to improve or change behaviors to successfully integrate into the positive team and program culture.
